Blender Java Progress

Print PDF

I am concentrating now on the Blender Java 2.5 code and I have almost all the functionality in there that is in the Blender Java app that is currently published ...

The difference with the Blender Java 2.5 code is that it should work well in Linux. I probably will not be expanding the previous Java code (based on Blender 2.48b) any further and will only be using it for reference.

I will be posting a new webstart link soon that uses the new Blender Java 2.5 code (this code also uses JOGL 2.0).

The source code is going to be open source but I am not releasing it yet as it is still drastically changing (as you can see with the move to the 2.5 Java code) and is still very messy. But as soon as it gets to a point where it is stable and organized enough and I want to try to get other Java developers involved, then I will create either a sourceforge project or use the Blender Foundations source code project setup.

There seems to be very diverse opinions about this project. Thanks for all your comments and please be patient.

Hi. I am not programmer, but there is a open source renderer called Sunflow, and it is Java based too. Maybe be would interesting to integrate/connect both programs.
